WattNode meters are installed in circuits with voltages from 120 Vac single-phase to 600 Vac three-phase. Exercise care—these voltages are lethal!
- CCS recommends that only qualified personnel install or service WattNode meters and that all work be performed in accordance with OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E electrical safety mandates.
- Before installation, verify that the WattNode model and current transformer ratings are within the proper range for the line voltage and current being measured.
- The line voltage inputs to WattNode meters should have fuse or circuit breaker protection in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and / or the local authority having jurisdiction.
- Use only UL recognized current transformers (CTs) with built-in burden resistors, that generate 0.333 Vac at their rated current. Do not use current output CTs! Current output CT can generate lethal high voltages that can permanently damaged equipment.
- The terminal block screws are not insulated. Do not contact metal tools to the screw terminals if the circuit is live!
